Little Kids, Big Flavors

You may have seen young contestants compete in shows like MasterChef Junior, but did you know kids all across the country are up to some amazing things in the kitchen too? In celebration of kids these days and powering their brilliance with nutritious dairy we’ll be sharing many of their stories right here in our Go Shine section, and would like to start with a little walk down memory lane!

Just fifth graders at the time, these kids, along with their chef mentors competed in our 2019 Junior Cooking Challenge at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena. They were tasked with menu planning, prepping, cooking, plating and presenting their dishes to an esteemed panel of judges including Clover Sonoma’s Marcus Benedetti. While Team Stark & Co. took the top prize with their artful use of local, seasonal and affordable ingredients, each of these kids pulled off impressive and delicious meals.
